Do you not understand what is at the root of this? This is an absolute siege on peoples right to self sufficiency. The government will take all of peoples aggressive growth accounts because they are too "risky". This will make people where they have to depend upon the government for their retirement-this is the whole agenda behind democrats, socialists and communists in the government. With this siege of personal property, it will kick the door down on the constitution-the right to private property..... What will be next? They will have an all out assault on our way of life, they would like to destroy our country and make it a "nicer" place. One where they are the only ones in charge and only they can make changes because they know better than the American people what is best for the American people. Dont be mislead that they want to protect us they want to control us..

First, this was not an Obama plan. It was merely a discussion, brought up by an economist, about how to insure that workers don't lose all their savings if the market completely tanks. It was a hearing -- there is NO bill related to this discussion. Calm down and stop screaming that the sky is falling.

Haha. I'm glad I squandered my 401(k) years ago.

I thought they wanted to privatize Social Security? Now I guess the Dems know they have the go-ahead to do whatever to Grow the Government.

I guess it would take an Economist to help you understand the true meaning of this article. They are actually trying to SAVE folks retirement since many have lost almost all of their money in the stock market as of late and are looking at not having anything to retire on. This way, their retirement income would be guaranteed despite stock market losses. My mother has so far lost over $50,000 in the last 6 months. She is distraught. This is an attempt to protect folks like my mom from having to go back to work at the tender age of 73 after seeing her life's savings go up in flames.

I guess you really have to READ the article and not fall for the ridiculous title.

That isn't news. They haven't even been secretive about it.

Confiscating retirement accounts has LONG been on their agenda. If you didn't know that, you really should be staying home on election days since you are clearly not paying sufficient attention to know what the major party staples are.

Actually this was reported on CNN prior to the election and although the link is no longer up suffice it to say that when it hits again it will be too late. I will be closing my 401K on Wednesday and stuffing my mattress.

    Sounds like projecting to me.

You want us to look at someone instead of the GOP, which ineptness, greed, deception & corruption has TANKED our country.

Do not forget, 401 are gone & IRA's. Pensions for the next couple of years WILL NOT BE THE SAME.

GOP RAPED AMERICA. So take your spin, lies, doctored jargon, mispeaks and BS Journalism that amounts to NOTHING back to your little club and enjoy you pizza crumbfilled life.
