Should I tell my Wife, that.....?

Please help me out with this one.

We live on a farm. We have a dog. My wife has a love/hate relationship with the dog. She is definitely more of a cat person. To her defense...our dog is VERY high energy and emotionally demanding.

OK, so we ALSO have a wild domestic white rabbit that SOMEONE dumped on our property. It is not ours..but about 2 years ago...suddenly a white domestic rabbit was seen here and there on our farm.

Tonight, after letting my dog out to go to the bathroom...he chased after the little white rabbit and managed to kill it. He's happened upon it several times before..but it always elluded him, usually by running under something he can't fit into.

I think he just go lucky and happened upon it, OR it stumbled/slipped as it tried to run into an irrigation pipe.

NOW...question is: Should I tell my wife and A) Make her sad for the poor bunny and B) Make her dislike the dog even MORE and C) Possibly make ME "watch" him whenever he goes outside to make sure he doesn't "accidently kill" anything else (she is VERY likely to do this, since we have cotton tail, and ground squirrels on our property too.)

I feel very bad about this because I was watching him sniff around a garden shed and try to squeeze his body partial under the shed..which he ALWAYS does but is never successful. Moments later he was no longer by the shed. I walked a ways and found him by the irrigation pipes shaking something white. HORRIFIED I ran over yelling "NO! Gambit, NOOOO!!! -- but I was too late :(

I feel REALLLYYY Bad that if I had been watching him closer I could have MAYBE stopped him and our little white, wild rabbit would still be alive :(

Should I wait until she asks "hmmm... I haven't seen the little white rabbit anywhere lately. " Which may take a month or two

OR

Should I not even tell her then..and just say "huh! niether have I" and leave it at that?

What would a good husband do?

Is a little white lie like this OK to keep the harmony between my wife and my ADHD Dog?

From your description, you sound like a really nice husband. And if i were you, i wouldn't stress out much. Like others have stated, you are not having an affair. It was just a little rabbit. It will not tear a relationship apart. Just tell a little white lie. Just get rid of the body, and don't worry. Go on with life. It was a rabbit. Don't fret!

Man, I can see why he didnt give you a proper name and number. You knew he was married right? You also knew he would not leave his wife and family for you right? So, what you have said is that your mad because he gave you a fake name and job. Also your mad because you wanted sex to make you feel better after grandmother died? Next, your mad at him because he gave you money to keep your mouth shut? You know that $2,000 dollars could be seen as blackmail dont you? Do you think for one minute that your guy is stupid? Do you think that him being an attorney that he doesnt have connections to unsavory people? Do you think that he is going to let you damage his reputation in his law practice as well as ruin his family life and insult him before his son? Does this sound like a person who is right in their head? Buddy, you are asking to get hurt. Dont let your jealousy and fantasy get the best of you here. If you trap this guy and force him into a corner that is going to cost him his job his family and maybe half of everything he owns because of you, well you had better get some health insurance quick. And while you are at it get some life insurance as well. Dont be stupid. Take the money, as long as the numbers are not in a row, and use it for a mad vacation away from that city as fast as you can. Go to Fire Island or to the Keys or somewhere far away.

    It's really up to YOU...

This is what I would do though (personally). I'm a pretty honest person, but I hate hurting a person's feelings... but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. If it were my wife (supposing I was a man, which I'm not.. haha) I would just tell her the plain truth. I think it's wrong to lie to people, even if it's no big deal (maybe you think otherwise, I don't know). I would explain to her that it was all an accident, keep my voice down, and comfort her if it hurt her in any way...

OR... you could just wait until she asks where the rabbit could be and be like "honey... well, the other day" and just tell her then.

I think it would probably best to not really bring it up, unless she does. But I'm a woman, that's just how I think. Take my word or not, it's up to you. :P

    Good luck!

I wouldn't make her sad by telling her that the dog killed the bunny. It's not really that big a deal and you seem like you've already put too much thought into this problem. lol Just keep an eye out in case he tries to hurt any of the other animals.

What you should do is get another rabbit that looks like the one you had, you could tell her about what actually happened, but I'm not exactly sure if she'd even allow you to keep the dog than.

It's a win-lose situation. Just do as you think is right, is all I can tell you.

Be a good husband and bury the damn thing very far away so that the dog doesn't dig the carcass up.

It's not like you're having an affair or something!

What she doesn't know in this instance will not hurt her.

You should just tell a little white lie, or else she might give the dog away. Answer my questions please!
