Ovulation predictor kits?

We've been trying for a couple of months now and no luck so I'm thinking about trying one of these kits. Do they really work? Is there any brand that is better than the others?

I was TTC for over 2 years before I started using BBT charting and OPKs. Within 4 months of doing BBT charting and OPKs, I got my BFP!! YAY!

I used the Clear Blue Easy Digital OPK. It gives you a smiley face when you're ovulating and an empty circle when you're not ovulating. They are more expensive then some of the other tests out there, but its easier for me to see that then trying to determin if one line is "as dark or darker than the other line." That is really subjective and hard to tell sometimes!

I'd start testing around CD 10 and test every day until you get a positive. It'll take you a few boxes your first month, but once you get a general idea of when you ovulate, you'll know better when to take them.

Always test in the late afternoon/early evening. Do NOT use OPKs first thing in the morning like you do with HPTs.

    Much dust to ya!

I suggest buying them off ebay, they cost a lot in stores and are a fraction of the price online.

I also want to add though, they act the same as a pregnancy test but you will always get a 2nd line for a while - the line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.

Also the best way to use these the most effectively is to chart.

I think they work - but here is my complaint. It gives me a line for about a full week around ovulation - so it really didn't tell me anything but that I was ovulating in that week - I find the FREE method of BBT charting MUCH more effective for tying down my actual ovulation times... And if you go on fertilityfriend.com they have a chart you can use online which is really helpful - plus tips on how to do it and such.

    Good Luck!

We started trying in January. I bought one, and got pregnant in Jan. The line shows up the same as pregnancy test when you're ovulating. I don't remember what brand I bought, but they're probably all about the same.
