I sold a used dishwasher worth 200 bucks. ?

The guy comes and pays me 100, all I asked for. He hauls it home and unloads in his shed and hooks it up and says it does not drain as fast as his old one. Based on that he says it does not work and calls a repairman. They tell him to take it apart and clean it. Now he is not a repairman and he has taken it apart and thinks it needs a 35 dollar pump which he thinks I should pay for. Did he negate the warranty that it worked by taking it apart. It washed dishes beautifully. And he got it for half of what it was worth. Now he is harassing me on the phone. I told him to call a lawyer and leave me alone. I spent the money, what would you do?

Update:

The only warranty given was that it washed beautifully, and it did. He took it apart with no ok from me. And I told him not to harass or I would call cops. thanks

I think it's called buyer beware. Buying something used is buying something used not new. If you didn't guarantee anything to him he's out. If he calls again you shouldn't hesitate to call the police! Good luck Patty :)

That guy is an idiot. In your place I would tell him that I would be happy to refund his money if he would return it in the same condition as it was in when he bought it.

this means that he has to reassemble the thing deliver it and THEN you must be able to run a load of dishes thru it since he took it apart - of course, since you already spent the money, I'd just tell him that he's out of luck starting when he dismantled the thing.

What type of warranty did you offer with a used machine?

Yes, dismantling, especially by someone other than a technician trained to work on that machine should take care of your warranty problem.

Block his phone number & if he keeps calling, file a complaint against him.

    Good luck...

What an idiot, he dismantled the thing and now he wants his money back. No way Jose !! I do remember that you and your son loaded the dish washer for him, because he had a bad back, right. Yet he can dismantle the dish washer and do repairs. hummmm, sounds like he may be playing several games here

The term "Buyer Beware" comes to mind.Sounds like he now owns a $135.00 dishwasher instead of a $100.00 one.Either way,he got a bargain on a nice used dishwasher.Screw'im and feed him fish heads.

You bought the bike, love riding it, are willing to accept the risks, so keep riding! If your mom came out and demanded you sell it, then I would say to respect her decision as a parent. But it seems to me the bribe is more of a coercion to something she would prefer not something she is demanding. Ride smart, give her reasons to trust you on the bike, and love the fact that you have a mom who cares enough to be concerned. Enjoy the dirt!

You sold the dishwasher as is and didn't hide any information from the buyer. It belongs to him and he is responsible for any damages or repairs now. If he is harassing you then report him.

In a private sale, there is no implied warranty. Tell him to sue you, he will loose in small claims court. If he keeps calling you, tell him you are going to call the police.

Just because it didn't drain as fast as his old one did doesn't mean that yours was no good, Besides if you said it washed ok the draining had no part of it.

He can not do a damn thng. He bought a used item and then took it apart. No promises were made. If he wanted a brand new item he should of bought a new item. He would loose even if he took you to court.

    F HIM!
