At home remedies for a headache?

I have a pounding headache and was wondering what I could do to lessen the pain besides taking an Aspirin. That takes quite a bit of time to work...and I want a solution now...if you can give me one that works 10 points will be yours!

1)Use a cold pack: the cold can cool your head and numb the pain

2)Use heat: a warm washcloth or a hot water bottle can ease pain

3)deep breathing exercises: if you suffer from tension headaches, sit in a darkened room and slowly take in deep breaths through your nose and let it out through your mouth. Do this until you feel relaxed

4)acupressure: reduce headache pain by squeezing the web of skin between the thumb and pointer finger as hard as you can; or use both thumbs and apply pressure under the bony ridges at the back of the head

5)meditate: imagine the pain flowing out of your head; you may combine this with the deep breathing exercise

6)Use an ointment with heat(for example Ben-Gay or Icy Hot) and rub it on your forehead or base of your neck, wherever it hurts. It will burn slightly and give a warm feeling to your head

7)Listen to relaxing music while you lie down

8)Peppermint Tea can calm you and ease the pain

9)Chamomile tea can also calm you, so you can sleep which will help your headache

have someone or even yourself massage your temples and forehead

    always works for me

then if that doesnt lessen the pain, try boiling water then putting a washcloth in the water. put on your head, yes its hott but it will lossen up the restricted blood vessels causing your headache. do this for at lease 5-10 mins.

Place an ice pack (or some frozen peas) at the base of your neck, this slows the blood flow and lessens the pounding.

soaking and just relaxing in a hot (as much as you can stand it) tub does wonders when i get my migranes. not only soak in the tub but put a warm compress on your forhead. its not very creative but it does work.

Source(s): ADD. also burn your fave candle to have the scent in air..and keep it dark in the room

Take the aspirin and while you wait for it to work, drive a nail through your palm. Head won't hurt anymore, promise.
