Do atheists feel totally duped since they elected a Christian president?
Congrats, Christians are still in power, God is still in power. Obama's followers and Obama disapprove of gay marriage, do you feel duped?

I think you'll find it was the American people not just the atheists, oh for the power!
Obama is a constitutional scholar and supports the separation of church and state. What evidence is there that Christians are in power? Where's the Theocracy? Will he be following Iran's example and seeding power to an unelected religious leader?
God can't be in power, because there is no God. See the benefits of clear Atheist logic, I don't have to worry what Obama or others believe anyway because it does not matter.
He may disapprove of Gay marriage but he also knows that from a constitutional perspective and the right to privacy that the state cannot continue to deny the same status to Gay people that it grants to heteros. Oh there'll be some flim flam about the name, but it's like denying the vote to black people, you can't hold back the tide for ever.
Maybe you should consider the words of a preacher from Georgia, I'm sure that Obama will
“ I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.'"

Christians are not in control. This is not a theocracy. It is a democracy. We are all equals.
I'm sorry you missed that.
I was never duped. There was full disclosure all along. I do not vote for the person's religion. I vote for the ability and policies of that person. I vote for their ability to defend my constitution. Obama and Biden are huge supporters of gay marriage. They openly acknowledge gay rights and refer to them as brothers and sisters. They compromise with civil unions and say, "Let the individuals call it want they will". Do you think they don't know we and the gay folks will call them "married"?
I give it two more generations, regardless of what you do or how much money you spend, before gays are not even blinked at in the public square. Deal with it.

One, I didn't vote for him. (nor did I vote for McCain)
Two, just because he's a Christian doesn't mean he presides with a Christian hand. I doubt he'll do anything to threaten Roe v. Wade, bring prayer to school or even do anything stupid like make Christianity the official religion of the State.
Yes, he disapproves of gay marriage. So what? I don't think that's one of his concerns either. He's also against abortion. Big woop.
The only concern I have is that he's going to continue faith-based initiatives.
Do you Christians feel duped that he won't bend to your every whim like GW?

No, not really. We've only ever had the choice between a Christian and a more avid Christian, in every election. And you needn't take such an accusatory tone, dear. You can try to flaunt your god character all you want with what ever half truths you like, but if atheists don't believe in god, it'll be like the emperor's new robes. What you think is a garment of the finest sorts, all we see is your bare as.s wobbling down the street.

The only reason why I would feel duped is because the Amendment here in Florida for gay marriage was worded in such a way that the average Joe didn't realize they were voting against it. Sad but true.

no because I don't care about gay marriage. It is a non issue for me. I voted for the economy and also because I hate Christian conservatism. I get tired of conservatives ill spirit towards people for things such as race, class, and religion.

With all the hype about Pastor Wright, it's not like anyone didn't know Obama was a Xtian.

Um, I was aware he was Christian from the start. I am well aware of who and what I voted for. I don't care what faith he is - unlike *some* people. He was still a better choice than McPalin.

Obama is not a Christian just because he says so. Besides he's in favor of abortion. I think the atheists can all relax.

Listen. Not being an atheist but in their defense, they voted for the person they thought was best for the position the same as you did. Obama was raised Muslim. Is that Christian?
