Is there any body here who sold stuff door to door?

When I was 12, I sold soft pretzels door to door for two cents.

Yeah when I was in high school I sold candy door to door for some fundraiser the school was having. I remember one house I went to Im sure the poor elderly woman has passed by now, but she said she wanted to buy some and let me in, I soon realized she was lonely and needed someone to talk to, she lived alone and brought out pictures of her kids, and grand kids who didn't visit. It broke my heart then as a kid and now looking back as an adult I feel even worse for her I can't help but think what if I had been a bad person she didn't know me to let me into her home she was frail, and we know today how bad people can be. Like I said I'm sure she is long gone but I never forgot her.

As a child I sold Camp Fire Girls candy for many years. As an adult

I was an Avon lady three different times, in three states. And I also

sold photography sessions door to door, for an in home photographer.

That was the most lucrative job I ever had. Everything I collected at

the door for an appointment deposit, was mine to keep. Then I would

make a small percentage off of the packet of pictures a customer

    would choose.

I am another who sold Girl Scout cookies. I also sold Avon during the years when door to door was the procedure. What a waste of time. I did better selling to friends, just like most Avon salespeople did.

Yes, in the late forties I got very rich selling U C A Salve , door to door. Understand that in the late forties it did not take much more than five or ten dollars to propel a young kid into the "Wealthy" category. Those were the days ! My Newspaper Division did quite well also. My Climbing Rosebush investment did quite well thanks to that huge wild Rosebush out behind the barn. I developed quite a reputation in the nursery industry but it was really limited to the block where I lived. Ah, the magic of childhood.

Yes, I sold shoe polish door to door for a school campaign. Maybe for the choir. Also, in my twenties, I was an Avon Lady. Hated it. Those experiences in d-t-d were enough for a lifetime!

it was sort of door to door ----newspapers and sundries at a large maternity hospital. Did ask for more mature paperbacks not Mills & Boon as felt that the ladies were a little too experienced for light romance ! Big sale to one woman's husband 5 papers as she had had quintuplets---thought she was huge !

When I was a Girl Scout, I sold daffodils in the spring; and of course, Girl Scout cookies.

Many years ago I sold cosmetics and later Fuller Brush products. I was also a Tupperware Dealer/Mgr. I enjoyed sales.
