Who should get a bailout? AIG or GM?
I realize they all suck and made plenty of mistakes but AIG has shown how they will spend the money this weekend.
I would rather give money to keep American jobs instead of making more bankers wealthier.

I'd have to go with GM but they would have to declare bankruptcy, then we could deal with the union and legacy issues, change management, give the taxpayers an equity share, retool and start building electric cars like there's no tomorrow. Every time the taxpayers bail out a company they should get an equity share that could be sold back later or used to pay down the national debt.

Neither. The ones who need bailouts are the workers who are losing their jobs, have balloon payments they wouldn't have been able to pay even if they were working and help to the All American Companies that make their products in the US with US workers. As long as a company can pay their officers more than all the workers doing the actual work make, they don't need bailouts.

Well, if it was just between the two, it would have to be GM.
At the end of the day, GM actually MAKES something. All AIG does is shuffle paper around. That's part of the problem in America today, is that we don't actually make anything here anymore. We were all sold this fiction that we could just shuffle papers around and call it an economy. And we all know how that lunacy ended....

Neither. In true capitalism the weak company would be allowed to fail and a stronger would take its place.

Neither. These bailouts will kill us if they don't stop.
And by that, I mean hyperinflation.
