Is white bread unhealthy or is it just less healthy than wheat bread is?

    Actually if you look on the labe of white and wheat bread, you will notice that the first ingredient in white bread is bleached flour. In wheat bread it is just "enriched" flour. There generally is no difference in the two. They are both unhealthy. There is very little healthy content in them.

    When reading your labels you need to make sure the first ingredient is whole grain wheat. That is the healthiest kind. You will find this in bread that is labeled "whole wheat" bread.

    It depends how you look at it. White bread does have some useful nutrients for your boday and does provide energy for your body, but scientists have recently also linked children's increasing incidence of diabetes with eating white bread. White bread is processed more like sugar in the body than is whole grain bread. So white bread is basically an unhealthy thing to eat compared to whole grain bread. White bread is usually made out of wheat, but it has been stripped of a lot of the healthy parts that are good for your body.

    It is the same difference between raw and white sugar. Anything processed is unhealthier than natural. Wheat is NOT white.

    i have even one piece of white bread and i cant 'go' the next day. it is fattening too.
