The listener. It's not the lyrics because many people have been moved and stirred by instrumental music such as the classic symphonies. Listeners bring their lives to the music they're listening to. Their ears give it an interpretation that no one else can give it.

Firstly, the music-composer of a tune of course; secondly the listener. Do not forget, if Beethoven played all of his compositions in the middle of a lonely desert, it would mean a big Zero!
