What are the little blue lights over traffic lights that turn on when the light turns red? ?

They have them in Orlando, but maybe not all over the US.

I believe they were incorporated into the normal traffic light assembly in order to attract attention when the light turns red...to prevent the accidental running of red lights. A lot of people run red lights because they are not paying attention...the flashing lights were invented to help prevent that...Hope i Helped.

There is a little bit of blue in the red of traffic lights, as well as a little bit of orange in the green lights. This is to help people who have trouble distinguishing between green and red.

Edit: Over the traffic lights? Oh, crap. Okay, then, my answer is aimless. True, but not answering the question. T.T

they are there so the police can see when the light turns red from all angles, to see if a car ran the red light. good, red light runnres are very selfish and dangerous drivers.
