Where Does the "Big Bang Theory" say the animals got their names?

The Bible says that God brought the animals to Adam for him to name in Genesis 2:19. By naming all of the animals, Adam demonstrated that he was master over them, as God gave man dominion over all of his creatures.

Biblical Examples

The Bible indicates that when someone names another person or thing, it shows that he has power over them. For example, you'll find the Pharaoh renaming one of the kings of Judah.

Then Pharaoh Necho made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in place of his father Josiah, and changed his name to Jehoiakim (2 Kings 23:14).

There is also the episode of the Babylonians renaming Daniel and his three friends when they were brought captive to Babylon (Daniel 1).

Anyway, my point is, that our God is a God of order. Scripture even says by the mouth of God himself that "Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Cor 14:40. The account of Creation was done exactly as written. Creation is a fact, It has already occured and God, Elohim the creator and sustainer of all life is maker of all things! He is INDESCRIBABLE! God says Adam, the first man named all creatures. What do the other theories say about where we got names for the creatures? Does anyone have that type of information? Christians have the Word of God which I can confidently say is the truth concerning all things. If you want the truth, The Holy Bible is where to find it. God bless!

Update:

"And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof." THUS SAITH THE LORD GOD. Dedicated researchers DID not name them. ADAM DID.

Update 2:

I see an awful lot of insults flying but not one intelligent reply other than Elaine. I see nno one able to say anything about Genesis 2:19. Hmmm!

Update 3:

A "Big Bang" would be like an explosion. Are you trying to say a bomb went off and beautiful colors formed on butterflies, and birds, and flowers and etc..... Now who's not educated? Look at the detail of everything around you. look at God's creative power. Wow, you all are more lost than I ever imagined. I am so very sad for your souls. :(

Update 4:

@novangel: You need to read your Bible! Adam and Eve spoke perfectly in the Garden of Eden. God formed them beautifully and perfectly. It was not until they sinned, that death and decay entered into the world. That was the beginning of the fall of mankind.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

(Rom 5:12 KJV)

Update 5:

Billions of years ago, a big bang produced a large rock. As the rock cooled, sweet brown liquid formed on its surface. As time passed, aluminum formed itself into a can, a lid, and a tab. Millions of years later, red and white paint fell from the sky, and formed itself into the words "Coca Cola 12 fluid ounces."

Of course, my theory is an insult to your intellect, because you know that if the Coca Cola can is made, there must be a maker. If it is designed, there must be a designer. The same is with creation. There was no big bang , we don't have back problems because we were lizards or whatever the infernal theory is you all believe. I know one thing. I have the the only thing I need when this life is over, do you? Are you ready to meet Jesus the one by whom all things were made and without him nothing was made that has been made? I pray that you will come to know him before your appointed time.

Update 6:

"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."

John 8:24

The big bang theory is a bunch of lie,s man has made up to

try to disprove God,the Bible tell,s us how everything was made and named, but some people just has to have it different,

    but we know the truth.

Huh....I'm gonna guess we started naming the animals around the same time we stared making semi-coherent grunts.

    Just a guess....

Wow....I don't know what else to say to that.

The Big Bang theory is an attempt at an explanation of the origin of the universe. I don't happen to accept it - I prefer other cosmological theories. Big Bang is a good attempt, I may be proven wrong, who knows.

But whatever you think of Big Bang it has nothing to do with how animals got their names.

That's not in the realm of cosmology and physics - that's the realm of linguistics, psychology and anthropology.

The fact that you used an astoundingly-wrong connection as a way to segue into reciting Bronze Age fairy tales simply takes my breath away. I cannot believe that there are still folks that think like that in the 21st century.

I hope you have a beautiful life and that you are never rudely awakened.

Please tell me that your question was a HUGE JOKE, or that you are ten years old!!!!

You take a silly myth, in which a supposedly ALL WISE god creates a man, NOT knowing until later that "it is not good for the man to be alone" and THEN, parades the animals in front of the mythical ADAM to see if any of the them would be a suitable MATE!!!!!!!! Divine bestiality??????

Genesis:2:18 ff "And the Lord God said: 'it is not good for the man to be alone, I will make a companion for him, a helper suited to his needs. So the Lord God formed from the soil every kind of animal and bird, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever he called them, that was their name. BUT STILL THERE WAS NO PROPER HELPER FOR THE MAN."

What kind of a bumbling god do you believe in????? Did he not know, before 'creating' all of those animals that NONE would be a suitable mate for his mythical Adam???

There are, that we know, about 20 million species. Assuming that he took only 5 seconds to name each one, and he continued 24/7/365, it would have taken him a little over 3 years of constant talking (no eating, no drinking, no rest) to do it. And you really believe this story? (I thought there was a minimum age limit for posting to Yahoo Answers.)

BTW, "God, Elohim" is a contradiction - "God" is singular, "Elohim" is plural. ('im" is the Hebrew "s" - it's the plural ending, so "Elohim" in Hebrew is "Elohs" in English. the Elohs, the race of the gods. It's like talking about what :"John, men" said. Oh, and "adom", in Herbrew, refers to mankind, not to an individual person. Sorry if your translation of the Bible got it wrong.)

did u know they dont call dogs, dogs in german, or other langauges, i think if one almighty god gave names to the animal then in all langauges they would be the same, and wouldnt have changed in time. very stupid question, i could think of millions of other things to prove that statement wrong but i gotta go

i am back, but u obviously have no idea wat the big bang theory is, do some research on it before u critisize something u know nothing about, the big bang theory happened billions of years before the earth was even created, then it took millions to create those buttterflys with color that u are talking about, i bet u dont believe in dinosaurs do u

ohh dear you have much to learn grasshopper!!!!! the big Bang theory is a cosmological event that happened about 45 billion years (4.5X10 9) years ago and resulting in the formation of the universe and all of its associated elements. animals never got their names until about 200,000 years ago when mankind developed the ability of speech. the creation myth is the biggest joke known to have been inflicted on man by man. there is no evidence a Garden of eden ever existed and far too much evidence to ignore the fact that we have developed Pretty much over the last 3.5 million years top the point we are now. just because a book says so, it don't mean its right. you need evidential tangible proof

Why do you find it so hard to believe that God could allow the Big Bang to take place? Why do you find the need to limit God's power to a book? Isn't that presumptuous?

Further the Big Bang created the universe, it's got nothing to do with how life started on earth. Moreover, I'm sure that the animals got their names, as if this means anything in the big picture, because the first humans who could talk noticed something about the animals they encountered and uttered sounds that eventually evolved into the words we have today. Something else God allowed to happen because he IS all powerful.

It's good to know that even Christians, fundamentalists, find this question to be silly--and scary.

there all many different languages so there are many different names for one animal, English didn't form until later so how can adam come up with the name "Elephant" when he was probably using an entirly different language back then?

Edit: Also some species didn't exist way back when, so how could adam name an animal that didn't exist back then?

There were no animals when the Big Bang occurred.

God did not name the koala and the platypus and the kangaroo.

These were named by the aboriginals of Australia.

And the world is not 6-8,000 years old.

Any educated person accepts that Earth is billions of years old.

    You, clearly, are not educated

    LOL.

1st off, the Big Bang has NOTHING TO DO with the origins of life on earth.

Secondly, do you really think that every culture/group on earth shares the exact same names for animals?? Do you really think that Adam named the duck-billed platypus that is native only to Australia - and that Adam never encountered??

Language, like ALL LIFE ON EARTH, evolves. We get names for animals from evolved languages.
