why do the British public support the farce of strictly bad dancing?

I have watched the joke on strictly and Wonder if the public would support the same farce if it was bought to a logical conclusion IE The boxer who is knocked out declared the winner, the last person in the race is the winner, The worst zombie in a company who is bad at his job and lazy promoted to managing director, The horse that falls over given the winnings,Perhaps it should be called strictly bad dancing

i wondered whether i was watching a comedy, John Seargent, bless his cotton socks, is a nice bloke, a good journalist, but a dancer he is not, and should never have lasted through round one. The British public are an odd lot in many ways, go for the underdog and see him lose and badly rather than support the good ones, bizarre.

whats worse many have called up the BBC to ask for their money back, what a shamble

Like all these types of show from x-factor to strictly to idol, they are cheap to make with high phone revenue stream for the production company.

There's nothing inherently wrong with a talent show whether it's The Apprentice or a battle of the bands, but when you add the element of public voting via revenue stream phone ins they can only last so long. You either have a public vote or an panel vote. Having both will always lead to problems and end up with programme being ridiculed. Can you imagine a public vote Dragon's Den where the funding money comes from the phone revenue and the Dragons are there just to give verdicts? Hmmm now there's a thought...

Its just one more example of dummying down to cater for the sadly too many brain dead TV punters and the same people have the right to vote and worse, serve on a jury!

Oh I thought that was what did happen here. Anyway it was supposed to be entertainment and for the first time it was entertaining. So that had to be stopped for everyones' own good.

It does however take two to tango and his partner is undeniably talented at the old bosanova. She carried him.

It's entertainment - it's not a serious dancing championship with people who have dedicated their lives to dance.

I think people take it too seriously.

  • I think it's to with the judges knocking him down, we feel we should pick him up again.

We like to support the underdog.

A humorous underdog is even better.
