The motor on my Whirlpool "Marvin" upright fan stopped running when it got wet today. ?
I dried all the parts as best I could, but when I plugged the fan in, the motor did not work. It can still get a little toasty down here in Texas, even in late November, and I really need this fixed if I can fix it myself. Any ideas? It was made in China. The model number is 1225. I have only had it for a couple of months, but a warrany is such a hassle and usually costs me more in shipping and handling costs than what it is worth. With money so tight for me right now, I really need to try and fix this problem myself if I can. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks so much and God bless anyone who answers my need.

chances are the capacitor is bad..its a little black square with a couple wires going to it..plus ur fan in and see if you can spin the fan..if it sarts to blow then its probably the capacitor or the start winding in the motor..you might have also ruined the bearings
