Is it legal to charge late fees for late rental payments in malaysia?

Most landlord would charge a penalty for late rent. Did you sign a lease? Read it carefully if you did.

Provided that the leasing agreement / rental agreement have the clause/s included and with the stated penalty fee/s .

It is actually an agreement there.

And in general , if there was no such clause or sub clauses included.

Tenant/s are obligated to pay interest % . Follow the current banking FD prorated % .
