Do inner envelopes really have to be hand written?

I can't do calligraphy and my fiance's handwriting is hardly legible as it is. My mom has the worst handwriting of all so she can't help either. There is no one else, 99% of our guests are from out of town.

Is it acceptable to print inner envelopes in a nice font that looks like calligraphy?

Update:

LOL. justwanttoknow, you are too funny.

"Since the beginning of time"

I am sure they would have printed them back then too if they would have had printers :-P

My answer won't be popular but I don't care...

Here's my take.. it's an envelope. It's gonna get torn open and thrown in the trash. When all is said and done, no one will remember if it was hand written or typed... or even if you didn't have an inner envelope.

I think all these rules about dumb forgettable details are pointless.

Not only did I print out labels for the outer envelopes, I didn't even HAVE inner envelopes... and somehow, we had a nice turn out and no one mentioned the invitations.

I suspect they jotted the details in their calendar, and threw it all in the trash anyways.

sure, they do serve a objective. some people do no longer study or pay interest to the names on the exterior envelope . . and in case you in elementary terms desire to ask the Husband and spouse (and not the babies) the interior envelope will, with a bit of luck, placed across that message. outdoors envelope . . Mr and Mrs John Edward Smith interior envelope . . Aunt Mary and Uncle John or Mary and John Smith responded by using: an authorized wedding ceremony professional / a professional bridal representative / a marriage rite officiant

As a guest, I would have no problem with this. I know that addressing the envelopes by hand is supposed to show that you put time into it, but honestly I could not care less. All I'm looking for is the information.

Of course you can print them! I've seen a few people recently doing this. It looks nice and legible printed.

I think electronically printed text would be better than illegible handwriting :)

Just watch out when licking the envelopes! (Seinfeld reference there... probably over most people's heads.)

That is the way it has been since the beginning of time.....but honestly you can do it the way you want...especially if it is legible...
