helping families with christmas?

I just became a single mother of 2. My ex boyfriend left me on the first of the month. And now that Christmas is coming around the corner. I am finding it's hard for me to get Christmas presents for my kids. I have to pay the bills and rent and after that I have no money to help with presents. And I was wondering if there is anyone (like churches or companies) that helps with Christmas presents for the needy. I hate to say that I need help with Christmas but there is nothing else that I can do. I want to have a nice Christmas for the kids but the way that things are going I'm scared I wont be able to give them the Christmas the need or the Christmas I want to give them.

If anyone knows anyone that is willing to help is great. And thanks. If you need my e mail address it's jessie4youalways@yahoo. And oh yeah, I live in Jacksonville Arkansas.

I am a single mum I work full time and have children too. We all have bills to pay everyone is struggling we just have to make the best of it and explain to our children that times are hard right now end of the day being together as a family and having a few small presents is best.

Stop making all us single parents seem spongers because we arent it really makes me angry when people say things like that. Work hard and do the best you can.

As with the first person to answer i agree contact the salvation army. I: used to be one of the application takers in Massachusetts. Even though I have since moved to New York, I have not as of yet volunteered. Anyway they will help you and give you a holiday dinner as well. They are good people. If the worker that answers the phone tells you that she cant. Ask to speak to the Lieutenants or the captains of the church. Explain your situation. I am sure they will make an exception. Why I say exception is i believe that they have already finished taking applications. Merry Christmas and god bless.

I would start by contacting the Salvation Army and if there's a Catholic Family Charities office in your area them too. They really helped my sis get through the first month without her idiot. (see--I love my BIL so much! GAG) Fire Dept.s sometimes can help, Lions clubs, scout groups..... Good luck!

Not sure about help in your state but i understand your situation COMPLETELY. A few yrs ago, I was in the same situation and I was helped. I started by writing a dear santa letter and mail it to the north pole for my kids. It does go to local charities and it does get answered. Call your local salvation army or churches or ever firehouses. My family was adopted 2 years a go by a fire station that helped us. good luck. Hope this helps
