Can someone get me updated; Why do Republicans call Obama, Barry?

Most likely answer: because they heard someone else do it.

Original reason: because at one time Obama did go under the name Barry.

But it was not, as someone claimed, the name that appeared on his birth certificate, nor is there any truth to any of whatever it is that pixawhoozit is spinning below.

When his mother divorced and went to Indonesia he changed his name to Barry saetero ( not sure on the spelling). Later he changed it back to his given name at birth. In college all who knew him called him Barry.

It is not just Republicans! It is true conservatives like myself! His real name is Barry Soetoro! I wonder why he does not produce a birth certificate?! I do not mean to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I see life imitating art! Anyone see "The Manchurian Candidate?" And I mean the original version?!!

When his step dad brought him to Indonesia to go to school, he apparently adopted him, made him an Indonesian citizen to conform to the Indonesian immigration laws, and changed his name to Barry Soweto.

apparently it was a childhood nickname. They use it to belittle him like the democrats that call GWB Georgie or Crawford's village idiot or bubblehead or Mr. Dumas. Humm, Georgie Dumas has a lot more nicknames than Barry.

Barack was known as Barry as a youth...

He used the name Barry when he was in HS and college. He tried to fit in. Now he is proud to use his birth name.

Obama did not like his name Barrack he wanted to be more like whitie so he called himself BARRY then he relized barry was a geeky name and went back to Barrak it got more white liberal women ...

I think its beacause Barry was a nickname.. and obama used it not sure or part of his name...
