In the dance room Edward sucked the venom out of her so she would remain human. He doesn't want her to become a vampire because he thinks she needs to live a normal life.

Dude, Bella doesn't become a vampire until Breaking Dawn, which is the fourth book. Twilight is only based on the first book and the sequel New Moon is going to be based on the second book in the series.

read the complete saga (the whole begining of edward and bella)

and you'll see its just the 1st book that they made the film out of.

we still need, New Moon, Eclipse and OFCOURSE Breaking Dawn (my fav.) when alll the craziness occurs and the permanent change begins.

Edward would never end Bellas life while she still has a chance to live her normal human life.. and he deffenetly proves that.

:) keep reading the sagas, especially breaking dawn, theres no way Twilight couldve ended with Bella as a Vampire it wouldnt fit at all, he just teases her at prom he doesnt in any way really transform her, and when James Bit her, he wasnt biting her to transform her into one already, he was suck the blood out.. during the saga she continues to ask him to change her as we allll want him to too lol! but its at the end (Braking Dawn) where it all fall into peices and what must be done, is done to save Bella. :)

i can now kind of see and understand how you had gotten confused.. they forgot to mention that part (as many more parts) in the movie because they rushed everything :S

:) read the book, the movie doesnt do the book justice at all

because to become a vampire the venom has to spread and it takes about 3 days to go across the whole of your body. bella didn't change because edward sucked the venom out before it could spread all through. however the place where james bit her is cold like edwards skin and shines in the sunlight.

You have to read the books to really understand Edward, but he just doesn't want Bella to be a vampire because he doesn't want to damn her soul to hell thats why he wants her to be a normal human...said in Twilight and New Moon, both by Stephenie Meyer.

Source(s): I've read the series multiple times and seen the movie twice!

Edward sucked the venom out of Bella so she would stay human. If the venom would have stayed she would have become a vampire. He didn't want to end her life.

because bella turned into a vampire during breaking dawn(the 4th book), but the movie was only based on twilight(the first book)

Edward sucks the venom out of Bella because he's the only one (well, other than Carlisle) that can control himself and not want to suck all her blood out. You should really read the books, they're better.

Edward didn't want her to become a vampire......at least not yet. You have to read New Moon to understand it a little more :)
