Is there protein in bagles?
Two people told me there wasn't protein in bagles, but the ones I got today were MINI ones and said they have 12 grams each. So do all bagles have protein??

Normally no..because its bread and bread is usually a carb
I think more compnaies are realizing people want protein things so they are adding it to their products.
With the atkins diet for the past few years seems as though they need to,

Yes of course ;that's why they're chewy.
The flour that used to make bagels is typically around 14% protein. When the two proteins >glutenin & gliadin> in the flour are combined with water and mixed ,a rubber band-like protein structure called gluten is formed. As a rule higher protein flours lead to the formation of more gluten in the product which results in a chewier product.

Yes---flour has crude protein, so even without the addition of eggs, you will get a protein hit from a bagel.
Read the label---I have never met a bagel that didn't have a pretty good protein content. Of course, you get a huge complex carb load as well.

Shelby, there is some small amounts of protein in bagels, it's still made from a grain, and grains do have protein believe it or not...

Not unless they are FORTIFIED with protein powder or something like that... Bagels are pretty much useless for dieters. Sure they may be low in fat, but they are ALL carbohydrate and sugar and empty calories, in the long run, you end up even HUNGRIER!!!
