At home wedding under a tent?
We are doing our wedding at a family cabin on the lake in MN in June. We are doing a tent and I know it is going to be a lot of work, but I'm excited. It is where we got engaged, so it seems like a full circle to be able to get married there as well. I'm just getting a little nervous about the weather though. Minnesota is extremely unpredictable. Has anyone had their wedding under the tent and dealt with less than desirable weather? We will have sides to the tent to keep any weather elements out, but I'm nervous if it downpours for days before the tent gets set up. Anyone have stories to share? Both good and bad?? I know what I'm getting into and I'm pretty set on the outdoor idea. I'm just curious if anyone has dealt with the soaking ground and if your guests had a good time anyway. Thanks!

It sounds like a lovely idea. It's a intimate wedding! I'm not having an outdoor wedding but I'm sure everything will be fine w/ yours. Just make sure you have the resources to keep your guests warm if it is raining and protected. I'm sure the weather wouldn't affect anything. Keep positive! As I've been told if it rains on your wedding day it's supposed to be good luck.

My husband's cousin was married last summer in Southern Illinois. The weather here can be pretty unpredictable. The wedding reception was outside at the bride's house under a tent. It rained the whole week before the wedding. But on Saturday it was sunny & nice. However, I could not believe that in the middle of July that I would need a heavy coat in Southern Illinois. Typically in July the weather is anywhere from 90-100 with very high humidity. The tent outside was very nice; the bride's parents have a large yard with tons of flowers so it was very nice.
Don't stress your guests will be very happy with your choice!
Good luck & congrats on your wedding!
