What would you think if?

What would you think if they banned gas cars? If one day they just tell you you can't drive your old gas car? Do you feel you could enjoy an electric or other alternate energy car as much as a gas powered car? (or maybe more) Please be descriptive what is your view of the future of cars. I'm not bias, meaning no matter what side your on I will give the 10 points to the best argument either way.

I think that if they ban gas cars, it will be hard to find an electric car that is as fun as my subaru. I have seen the new electric car from Tefla Motors, which is very nice, but that is a $100,000 car. I don't have to money to afford such a car, and i believe if they make cars like that which don't sound like futuristic buzzing cars that make a high pitch noise that gets annoying.

Although they have made advancements in the sound muffling systems in the new electrics so you can't hear that at all, I believe i would have more fun in my gas car than i would in an electric. I also like the sound of the car as much as i do driving it.

An electric isn't fun to me because it doesn't go through the high revs and gear changes like a 5 speed gas car does. Granted they do sell sound chips for electric cars to make them sound like gas ones, but that simply wouldn't be the same thing.

I have constantly thought about this when i am just thinking about random things, and i do believe that many people would not be able to afford brand new electric cars, considering i bought my subaru impreza for $1500 used, and im still in high school. Many high school students and even adults could not afford to spend the money of new cars, which is why people look at used cars to drive around.j

If they didn't allow gas cars anymore, the economy would dip to an unbelievable low because people would not be able to afford the new cars, which in turn would not allow them to plug them in in there homes, which means they would not pay the electric bill people would have to in order to charge their cars, which is a vicios cycle in my opinion.

The car industry does need to start somewhere in makin 100% electric cars, which they are, but they should not cut out all gas cars off the start of the releases of the new cars. They could integrate the electric cars into the gas car community, and after a while, these cars could be sold as used, which after a while would eliminate gas cars off the market.

  • Speaking as a car enthusiast, I'd say it would be wonderful. We'd have clean air, much less noise pollution. The troubles in the Middle East would suddenly be less important and probably easier to resolve- I'd be glad to part with my beautiful old V8 to make the world a better place.
