I don't see how he got a pass from the media. The media investigated him a lot on Wright during the primaries and he was even grilled constantly in the debates with Hillary. Remember the last one with ABC and George Stephanopoulos? Now there was a lot of investigation into Ayers as well and the main reason there wasn't that much traction into the Ayers controversy is because there wasn't much to it. He is Obama's neighbor. Is that suspicious? Was it a party full of terrorists? No it wasn't. There was nothing wrong with what happened and that's why the media didn't take the story overboard. If it weren't true, Obama would not have gotten millions of more votes than McCain.

Ayers' relationship with Obama was really overblown by some commentators; they barely knew each other.

Senator McCain opted to not press Obama about Rev. Wright. His decision. I might have asked about it had I been in his situation, but I'm not sure we can fully understand the context of the remarks without actually being in the church.

I have every confidence that Fox News and the New York Post and the Drudge Report, among others, would have made this a bigger issue had they been able to do so. There are plenty of conservative voices out there.

He didn't get a pass. Palin got a pass! They didn't show how numb and corrupt she really is!

Ayers is a respected college professor who was convicted of nothing, nor was anyone killed, which is more than I can say about the Ohio National Guard and the 4 they murdered at Kent State!

If it were not for the students, Vietnam would have never ended.

If we had of had a draft during Iraq the war would have been over long ago BECAUSE of people like William Ayers!

As for Rev. Wright, there is maybe a half hour of footage of him staying controversial stuff out of his twenty year career. This crap was repeated over and over on the news and nobody cares. McCain lost because of dumb smears like this, not despite of it.

If you really think this should of gotten more air time, why shouldn't they have aired more of the criminals that McCain knew, like G. Gordon Liddy or Charles Keating, or the religious nuts like Rod Parsley or Palin's witch hunting church?

Fact is, the Republicans didn't receive such a total lack of investigative reporting. Unlike Obama....

This year was the death of main stream journalism. For reasons that only they know, the so-called journalists gave up on true "investigative" reporting. We found out more about Joe the Plumber in 2 days than was reported to us by main stream reporters in 2 YEARS about Obama. Why is that?

I have given up 100% on MSM and have since stopped watching them. The only news I watch is my local news. I am unwilling to listen to propaganda, lies, and total whitewash.

Barack Obama and Bill Ayers worked together on 2 different boards of directors over the course of a 10 year span, they worked together outside those boards as well.

Obama endorsed Ayers book in 1997 calling "A Kind and Just Parent: Children of the Juvenile Court," a "searing and timely account of the juvenile court system, and the courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair."

They were neighbors, coworkers, etc.

Concerning Wrights church... Oprah Winfrey said that she went to that church for a total of 6 weeks and quit going because she felt that the good Rev Wright was too incendiary.

Right now people are too busy watching ther 401K's plummet, people lose their jobs etc. Obama had a better economic plan.

The liberal media makes me sick. They crucified Bush, now praise Obama. Such filthy hypocritical maggots. But sometimes it backfired on them...when they caught Bush on camera thinking that the cameras werent rolling calling a liberal asshole trying to put him on the spot calling the guy an "asshole", they thought people would think that Bush was the jerk...it only made people who hate liberals too vote for him. I know its what got my vote.

Perhaps...it is true that John McCain received far more negative press coverage than Barack Obama...but, that is like Divine Payback...Let's face it...John McCain attempted to run his campaign on Strawman politics...not talking about his plans or issues...but making it a character attack on his opponent...and that is why...the media gave Obama a pass...these are serious times...and we need a President who talks about issues and his solutions to them...rather than covering up the fact that he doesn't have a plan and is more likely to continue the status quo (i.e., John McCain)....Thank you very much!
