Who else believed the Electoral College has outlived its usefulness?
We have the technology now to elect Political Leaders based on the "Popular Vote" and there is not need to keep these people around, especially since they are not bound by law nor rules to vote for any particular candidate.

I agree! The main reason why it was effective before was that it forced campaigning to happen all over the U.S., not just in major cities. That was its main purpose, and it was effective. But with modern technologies, we can afford to lose that because we can all watch the campaigning on T.V. or online. It really has outlived its purpose.

I agree. The electoral college was supposed to keep smaller states significant during the election, however it has done just the opposite. A politician only needs to win the 12 largest states to win the election in the current format. That means he could lose 38 of 50 states and still win the election, how is this a good way of picking a leader?

The electoral college dying knell sounded in 2000, even even though it nevertheless hasn't given up the ghost. this is going to. this is thoroughly from yet another era, like slavery, and has no bearing in todays situations.

Oh for jeeze sack when been using it for more than 50 years .... if there was a problem we would of change it.
Also going by popular vote dosent make sense. Its not a beauty contentest.

For anyone else but Obama. I'm glad Obama is president but he would have won had they not been in place anyway.
