Is it safe to take anti-depressants?

I am on risperdal and depakote right now. I want to be manic so I can do some house work. Would it be ok to take one of my moms effexor XR?

Although most perscription drugs are safe to take-you shold never take anyone elses medications. If you are to tired to do housework withot feeling that you must turn to drugs-whether perscription or not-then you need to talk to your Doctor.

Believe me, after being prescribed a dozen or more different medications throughout my life you don't want to be anywhere near effexor unless you have to! If its working for your Mom more power to her. Effexor could throw you way off and should not be taken lightly. LOL if you want to be manic get on some zoloft or prozac!

Don't' be an idiot, you don't ever take someone else's drugs. How about you just quit being lazy, get off the computer and clean. Rather then take someone else's drugs which you could have a bad reaction to, since they are not yours.

I often wonder what the hell goes through peoples heads, when they think that's okay.

No, it would not. Taking someone else's prescription pills and mixing them with your own will not make you manic. It will just make you sick. I take Effexor, and it usually just makes me tired. Just do the housework and stop being silly.

I wouldn't take them. I'm a manic depressant. And I don't take any thing like that.

but different people have different problems. I wouldn't you should not take medication that is not yours. There are types of things my mom can take that I try and I threw up.

I'm not a doctor but probably not. If you're over 18 then just go to your doctor tell him what you're taking and see if you can even take an anti-depressant.

No, one pill will not make any difference in the way you feel, Try a trip to the doc

Short-term - ok. Long-term - hell no. And taking multiple anti-depressants at one time is not right...see a psychiatrist.

You should know better than to take someone else's prescription. Don't self medicate. Weren't you listening when Heath died??
