Mercedes VITO 108D MY1997?
Hi, any Mercedes techs or auto sparks out there in Yahooland!? I have 97 VITO 108D and both reversing light have failed in the past few days( just noticed last night) The bulbs are both ok as is the switch on the gearbox, but there is no power on the reversing light cable at the block on the rear light cluster on either side. Also checked the connectors below the pass. seat, nothing evident. I was wondering if there was a relay anywhere for these lights or is it just a direct connection to the switch? Any advice on where to look for the fault(break) ? All other rear lights are ok. Thanks..
G Dog, thanks for that. I checked both sides of the switch with a test lamp, one side live with ignition on, other side live when reverse engaged, haven't checked continuity yet, but there's obviously nothig getting from the switch to the lamp terminal.
Reversing lights and horn are on fuse 4, fuse is OK and horn works, still trying to find fault!!

sorry to suggest such a stupid thing but you have checked the fuse havent you,and the supply of feed at the back of the fuse box through the fuse box and down to the switch.
check to see if ther is continuity between the fuse box and the switch ,then the switch to the light,s the feed may go back up to the fuse box from the switch through another fuse then down to the lights or may not,you say the switch is ok on the gear box what did you do to test it,have you bridged the wires on the switch to see if the lights come on.....try these bit and see how you gey on..
