How do you feel about Tennessee's hiring of Lane Kiffin?

It's starting to spread around the state and in the news today that Mike Hamilton and the University of Tennessee has reached an agreement with Lane Kiffin as UT's new head football coach. I'm not exactly sure what to think... I'm an advocate of Will Muschamp but I couldn't see him being offered the job. I really thought Brian Kelly or Mike "Vince Gill" Leach would get a closer look, but I guess I was wrong. I still think Fulmer was let go way too soon.

Do you think Phil Fulmer was let go too soon, and how do you think Lane Kiffin will do?

Update:

I don't think it's necessarily a bad hire, although there are probably guys out there who would be a better fit.

There's already talk of how awesome of a staff he could put together. Reports are that he's talked to his dad Monte about coming on board as the D coordinator. Highly unlikely, but and interesting thought. I just don't want it to turn unto the Kiffin Family show.

Fullmer's time was up. Sometimes, a new voice is needed. UT and the Philadelphia Eagles are alike in this respect. Lane Kiffin is a good young coach. He'll bring a breath of fresh air and new, fresh ideas. I say it's a good hire.

I'm slightly suprised.. I was pretty sure we'd hear more on the John "Chucky" Gruden before a hire was made.. Kiffin I think will do ok.. but the SEC has so many high profile coaches that right now he's just "the new guy"..

I thought personally that Fulmer was a lame duck 2 years ago.. I'm suprised honestly that it lasted as long as it did

and to the Auburn fan.. relax lol.. Auburn is going to be very good next year.. I think 3 4* receiver recruits.. we return 80% of the OL.. Lester leaves but Fannin, Tate, Smith are back and McCalleb coming in.. on defense.. we lose Powers and Merrill Johnson but we get Aaron Savage and Tray Blackmon back and we're adding in Eltoro Freeman to go along with Bynes and Blackmon.. Coleman and Marks have had down years so they'll stay for senior seasons.. next year Auburn is going to be nasty especially now that Kodi has a year under his belt and a TON of confidence in what he's doing ;)

they hire a guy who was fired for doing a bad job. it makes no sense to me, their are alot more deserving coaches out there (with winning as a part of their resume). Im a gator fan and I was hoping tenn. would hire the tulsa coach his offense is scary , or at least a coach that would make the early sep. game important again, but oh well tenn. wants to loose to UF every year that's fine with me.

BAD MOVE FOR THE TENN. ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
