  • Can anyone help me pick between two laptops?

I'm a college freshman, and need something that will last me a few years on a budget. I'm in the $4-500 price range, and I've got two laptops in mind, both with good features. I have decent tech knowledge, but I'd like a second opinion. Thanks in advance!

  • Fantasy Football - Who wins in this trade?

I give up Bernard Berrian and Michael Crabtree, but I receive Donald Driver and Laveraneus Coles? So basically, Berrian for Coles is a push. Is Driver more valuable than Crabtree?

  • I'm attending my first wedding and I'm clueless!?

I'm a guy in my mid 20's who hasn't been to a wedding in my adult life.. since I was a small child in fact. The wedding is for a co-worker, and I may be the only person from work who is attending. I have a few questions... what do I wear? It is an indoor service, in a church, with a reception to follow. Do I need to bring a gift? I know the couple is registered at a few stores. Also, I have invited a female friend to accompany me, which I was told by the groom to do. How do I go about acting like I know what I'm doing?! Any advice whatsoever would be appreciated.

  • What do you call these pictures?

You know, the pictures with the black border and captions? It seems like I've been seeing them everywhere on the internet here lately. Where did they originate from or gain popularity?

Here are a few examples I found:

  • Any suggestions for a new laptop owner?

    Hello,

Last night I made another step into becoming a modern adult and bought my first laptop computer. I'm having a blast with it, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what else I can do with it, other than basic internet/email use and such. Are there any fun programs you can recommend, or anything that I might not have thought of? Also, any maintenance or care advice would be helpful as well. Thanks!

  • Why do I have this dream so often?

When I was 19, I moved off to another state on the coast all by myself. I had some very tough times, but there were also some good times as well. I moved home right before I turned 21, and have gotten on with life. I'm now a few years older, but I am constantly having dreams that I have moved back there. I always feel strange or out of place in these dreams. In one dream I drove my work vehicle (a dump truck LOL) there, and last night I had an apartment there. Many times I have my old job back. I have these dream almost weekly! What does this mean?

  • Question about Google searches?

I've noticed that the top searches aren't showing up anymore... you know, as you're typing your text into the search bar, the recommended searches aren't underneath anymore. What could cause that?

  • How far do you drive to work every day? Am I driving too far?

After all this searching and trying and praying, I'm hopefully about to get a good job! The thing is, it's a county over. It's roughly 30 miles one way on the interstate... but the good thing is that I'll be leaving town, rather than driving into town, so I'll miss that traffic. Is this too far to drive for an average-paying county job? How far do you drive?

  • How do you feel about Tennessee's hiring of Lane Kiffin?

It's starting to spread around the state and in the news today that Mike Hamilton and the University of Tennessee has reached an agreement with Lane Kiffin as UT's new head football coach. I'm not exactly sure what to think... I'm an advocate of Will Muschamp but I couldn't see him being offered the job. I really thought Brian Kelly or Mike "Vince Gill" Leach would get a closer look, but I guess I was wrong. I still think Fulmer was let go way too soon.

Do you think Phil Fulmer was let go too soon, and how do you think Lane Kiffin will do?

  • How can I get my motivation back?

I broke my foot on the job a few months back, and was out of work for a month. After the injury healed, I decided not to go back to this job for different reasons. I've got a great job opportunity, but it's a county job and they're in a hiring freeze, so it'll be a while before it comes up.

I've had absolutely no luck finding work of any kind, I've tried everything I can think of. I feel so discouraged. I'm depressed, and I feel like I have no motivation at all. I don't feel like exercising, going out or being with friends and family, and I've even lost my desire to be involved at church. What can I do to get out of this "funk" that I'm in?

  • What gun would be the best for me?

I've been wanting to buy a gun for some time now, but have kept putting it off. With the incoming flood of liberals into the house and senate, it's finally pushed me into buying one bore they make it a big hassle. My question is, what would you suggest? I'm thinking about a handgun, maybe a .40 caliber 1911, or maybe a Glock of some kind. I do plan on getting my carry permit. I'm not limited to handguns, either, so I want your opinions. Thanks!

  • Any advice on coaching Pee-Wee Basketball?

I've decided to take on the challenge of helping coach a team on our church league. The kids are all between 5 and 7, and it will be the first time playing for some of them. I played as a kid, but I've never coached. I'll be the assistant coach, and I'm trying to find some ways to get the kids to learn dribbling and passing skills while keeping them focused. Our first practice is next week. What would be some good drills or practice techniques? Thanks in advance!

My receivers this week are Randy Moss and Bernard Berrian. My RBs are Portis and Slaton. As a Flex player, I have Earnest Graham (against Carolina), Vincent Jackson (starting for injured Chris Chambers against NE), and Devery Henderson (against Oakland). Who would you go with as a Flex?

  • How do I avoid hand pain from using crutches?

I've got torn ligaments in my foot and I'm on non weight-bearing restriction, using a walking boot and crutches. I have no problem with my armpits, but my hands are killing me. It feels like it's just hurting from pushing all my weight on my hands. Is there a way to avoid it, or do I just learn to live with it?

Also, while using the crutches, I tend to use my injured foot to push myself a little, just with my toes. The injured ligaments are up higher. Do you think that is a problem?

  • Corrections Officer Exam?

I applied to the County Sheriff's Department of Corrections in Nashville, and after reviewing my application they set up a date for me to take the written exam next month. I'm a little curious about what to expect on the test, and what types of questions they ask. Does anyone know?

  • Should I buy this 60gb PS3?

I found a refurbished 60gb PS3 at Gamestop for $449. After I trade in my PS2, the price will be about $390. I know they quit making the 60's, but my question is can I still get the updates from Sony on a 60gb?
