Should hate political parties such as the BNP and the SNP be made illegal?
"the return of B Rob" I don't understand the reference to "First They Came" by Pastor Martin Niemoller. Is it the NAZI's came for the Jews and the world looked on until force to act? Or we shouldn't ban any party?
I see some of you have used the old "free speech" cry, sorry it doesn't fly we haven't got it.
Good thing too, as far as I'm concerned, joe public should decide what is acceptable.
If we had true "free speech" there would be no libel or slander laws.
We'd have the freedom to disseminate pornography, paedophilia, racism, threats and
freedom to display sexist posters and freedom to
advertise cigarettes and whisky - without health warnings.

Sorry, I seem to have upset some people by making no difference with the BNP and the SNP. But to me they are both extremist national parties. The BNP actually state their immigration policies. The SNP just vaguely state that if they achieve independence they will be "implementing a distinctive immigration policy" , if you ask them for details, they are strangely quiet (try emailing and ask). Although some of their rank and file supporter are not. An MSP in the past have stated their admiration of Jean-Marie Le Pen. So until the SNP clearly state their immigration policies, I'll keep the link.

Well that is a loaded question. By using the word "hate" you are implying that The British Nationalist Party AND The Scottish Nationalist Party are as bad as each other?
There is NO simple answer to your question. Whilst the BNP are thought to be "racist" and often accused of such could the same be said about the SNP?
I think they are in fact a world apart and it would be unwise to suggest they are.
Whilst the BNP do have a valued point of view even if you or I can't see it, it is only a matter of opinion. But more importantly it is the right of the individual to make their own mind up.
The Lord Justice said " what is the point of having free speech if you are not allowed to offend someone?" or words to that effect.
The answer to your question is therefor NO. It is far better to talk to one another than to ignore one another. I would rather have the "extremist" where I could see them, then turn them into a Terrorist and let them slip away like a theif into the night.
No because it is the individual citizen who should choose.

"Well the BNP welcomes about 60 million British people."
Sorry Karen, but what have you been smoking? The BNP wants to kick millions of people out of Britain based solely on the colour of their skin. Don't let the fact that most of them now wear suits instead of football shirts confuse you into thinking they are not a racist party.
The SNP simply wants Scottish independence, and furthermore it wants to see it realised in a peaceful and democratic manner. Further still, because the demographic state of Scotland is very different to England, it actually encourages immigration, the 'brain drain' means that there is a skills shortage in Scotland that needs to be remedied.
To answer the question - no, they should not be banned because this is a democracy. People should be able to stand for government under any banner they want, if we stop people having their say on how the country is run it will only cause resentment, and runs the risk of turning less popular groups into political martyrs. BNP policies apparently stop short of violence or force (the reason for their policy of 'voluntary repatriation' - a contradiction in terms if there ever was one!) so they cannot be banned.

You can't compare the BNP and the SNP just because they have similar names!!
The BNP are seen as racist because of their policies! Policies like whites only! Which is ridiculous in this day and age.
The SNP welcome other cultures and are not racist. They're not anti-english because they have an English MSP!! All they want to do is make Scotland an independant country!
SNP are not a hate party.
And to answer your question, no they should not be illegal. There is such a thing as free speech and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

The SNP isn't a hate party. It wants independence for ALL the people living in Scotland. It's not trying to throw out anybody based on their skin colour. They just want Scotland to be able to make it's own decisions about how they spend their own money, and also be able to represent themselves as an independent country in the modern world. Comparing them to the BNP is a bit extreme really to say the least. They're not alike in any way, shape, or form. :-)

No - I hate the BNP with a passion. I also disagree with the SNP (as I think there is more that unites us than divides us).
However others may disagree and I will defend their right to do so. I love the fact we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom to support whatever political party you believe.
However if the BNP got in power I would fight to my last breath to ensure that the values I hold dear are maintained

those are purely nano parasites who play the gadget what a fuss certainly anybody acts like its this form of feckin revelation. they are very probably responsible yet they are additionally in all probability getting stabbed interior the back via human beings larger than them, who do no longer purely like the way they have performed their business enterprise. yet we could placed issues into perspective right here in addition they provide a dazzling smoke video exhibit to Britain's unlawful occupation of Iraq, bankers bailouts and offshore debts the place they stash all our lacking funds, that's for effective. all of us desire action yet this might desire to easily be to wipe the slate and throw away the fabric to be secure supply no-one this plenty ability, we don't certainly desire them, we are in a position to pay all those centers they privatised whilst and if we use them. Why might desire to persons pay for beside the point conveniences?

You know I was tempted to go into a full scale rant here, instead i shall treat this question with the contempt it deserves. for our american cousins agreeing with this dimwit, it goes to sho that only 2% of your population have a passport and have travelled outside your own borders! The SNP are the party of government in Scotland elected by her people!

If you do that were does it end and who makes the decisions , Freedom of speech it a privilege, destroy it and you have anarchy. And dictatership or communisium. Evils far worse than BNP and SNP.
