Question about pregnancy and chronic pain?
I have chronic moderate to severe back and hip pain and I'm currently taking Percocet 10/325 mg daily. I want to have another child so badly but the last time I stopped taking pain meds of any kind it was agony for most of those three months. I have one child but the condition didn't start until after the birth and after a Depo-provera shot, which may be related and I never planned on having an only child. Is there anyone who's been through this and what did you do to alleviate the pain? I can't not work because my income is needed, and I also want to make sure my family doesn't suffer if I do end up pregnant (I do most of the housework, shopping, cooking, etc) and can't control the pain. Please give advice, and also know that I have tried to talk to my doctor but his response was basically either stay on the medication or get pregnant and suffer, which I think is pure bull since there's got to be practical alternatives out there. Thanks!

I would recommend a consultation with a Pain Management doctor, especially one that has treated the chronic pain of those who are pregnant, to see what other suggestions they may have.
Also, I know someone who recently went thru this. Please e-mail me off site and I will try to get in touch with her to see if I can give you her e-mail address.
