My car Windscreen always steaming up ?
My windscreen always steams up for some reason it never used to. It happens every time I go out in the car, before it only used to do it if it was raining now it happens everytime. Anyone know why this is?

This is a sign of a' leaky' heater core. The heated water is leaking as steam and upon contact with the cold glass is cooled and condenses into water droplets.
"BRILLIANT"!!!!

Have you told the heating system to recirculate the air in the car rather than using fresh air from outside? If the car is recirculating the same air this will cause the windscreen to steam up.

Probably water has gotten in somewhere maybe the Fan, so when you turn on the heater you are evaporating the water which then condenses on the Windscreen, the build up of water maybe due to a blockage caused by leaves or something

Make sure your windscreen is clean, and it won't seem as bad. Use a good quality car glass polish to remove greasy films that form on the inside.

there is rain water getting into your car some were, have a good feel of your carpets even in the boot and in the spare wheel well, it does not need to be much of a leak to make the car mist up, leaks can be a right pain to find an repair, i have spent hours in cars with a hose pipe spraying water and not found a leak then over night there has been rain and water has leaked in (very annoying )

Open fresh air to your car. (in most cars there is electrical or manual fresh air key)
And one advice: in very hard situation(when you have a lot of steam on your windscreen) when your heater is on "HOT" position, also push A/C key. then steam will be disappear immediately.

Only one other answer was right, your heater core has rotted through and is leaking, the seam is from the leaking coolant in the heater box which is boiled out onto the windshield no matter where you set your controls, you need to replace your heater core.

did you pour hot water over the windscreen one cold morning?
did you ever wipe the window using your hands/sleeve/cloth?
wash your window with window cleaner
use a crinkled up newspaper <<<yes a newspaper (nothing else) to dry it!
Source(s): either their is something thats on the glass or not on the glass wax i think that makes the glass fog up so much! the newspaper is the perfect way to clean the window! i use this, and the fogging effect is very rare and is quickly remidied with only about 1 min of the heater! before when people would be rubbin it it used to take 10 mins for the heater to demist the fog!
