how to create graph in excel?

i know how to create a graph using data in cells but can i create a graph for example a line by using an equation like on a graphing calculator when you go to y= and type in the equation?

    Put you data in two columns. Select those columns and invoke the Chart Wizard.

    An XY scatter graph is the easiest for putting one column on the x-axis and the other on the y.

    After you've made your choices, right click on the chart if you want to change your mind.
