any helpful suggestions on weight loss?
Want to lose some weight but my foot is in a brace so I can't exercise. I'm not a junk food eater. Any suggestions besides eating like a rabbit? Any input would be appreciated.

As this article points out, you can lose weight without exercise, but of course, it's best you do both together.
Here's a quote on that topic. I pulled out item # 2 from the article. (See Source)
Quote:
"2. DIET. By now you know the importance of a healthy diet. Did you know that your diet is 4 times more important than exercise in determining how fast you progress. And exercise is needed in combination with a healthy diet to sculpt those muscles underneath. It’s not all about doing “crunches” to get nice looking abs or to get rid of excess fat you put on. You also have to work on your diet.
Try to stay in a zone when eating, getting calories from carbohydrates, protein and fat in a ratio of 40% / 30% / 30%. This ratio has been shown to produce weight loss at reasonable rates. You will feel your best, without cravings (for salty and sugary foods) and you will not feel hungry. Eating this way balances you insulin levels. You don’t get the highs or lows after a meal. When you are in caloric balance your body is more efficient and does not have to store excess calories as fat.
Reduce your intake of highly saturated fats! Stop eating those artery-clogging french fries, chicken wings, etc. It’s okay to eat them once a week but don’t pig out on them. If you normally order a Large Fries, then order Medium one next time. If you eat meat everyday, cut down your portion sizes and eat chicken and lean meat and nice fish."
Elsewhere on this site I read:
"Remember this equation: There are approximately 3500 calories in a pound of stored body fat. So, if you create a 3500-calorie deficit through diet, exercise or a combination of both, you will lose one pound of body weight. This combination of diet and exercise is best for lasting weight loss.
Let’s say you want to lose a pound per week. To do so, you need to figure out how many calories a person of your age, sex, and weight usually needs in a day, subtract 500 from that amount, and follow a diet that provides you with that many calories. (7 days x 500 calorie deficit per day = 3500 calories lost per week = 1 pound)"
If your movement is restricted and you want to exercise, browse through a good training program that offers a bunch of alternative workouts. (For example, my knee acts up from time-to-time, when that happens I switch to something else. See what I mean?)
I hope this was helpful. Good luck!

Drink lots and lots of water. Even though you Eat right and possibly exercises drinking water is a good way to lose retained water. What your body does is if you don't drink water often or as much as you should it begins retaining it because it doesn't know when it'll receive water again so just to be safe it keeps some of it stored in your body (i think this is adorable). So if you get it used to knowing it's gunna get plenty of water often then it'll stop storing it away and you'll actually lose a couple more pounds that way. As far as food goes i've been told to eat more times a day but less proportions. Hope this helps!:o>

If your brace is water proof, I'd recommend swimming with a float held between your kness; that way theres no strain on your legs at all, but its still a godd workout
Also; cut back on fats and eat more veg and salads. Remember if you are unable to get about you will need fewer calories per day, so try reducking your intake to maybe 2 meals or smaller portion sizes

Have you ever tried Pilates? It's all done on the floor. They also have modified movements. It's really low impact. It's entirely in a seated position or lying down. OR you could still work out other parts of your body like arms, abs, etc.
