Why are Germans kindda pedantic when people try to learn their language?
No offense, but they seem to believe there are no language levels, and that one must talk their language perfectly (i say this based on a very non helping response I got here).
Thus I recently read a post where some germans stated they learn perfect spanish when spansih people can´t learn german just as good .
I´ve heard germans talking spanish and english honestly they still have their heavy german accent and make lots of grammar mistakes like any other foreigner..
I was under the impression they were understanding about these matters ,like my teacher told us... *sighs* < ( - - ) >

Germans are Germans....come on. The country has a history or being rude. We all know this, everyone knows this. But most Germans are not rude...they are people just like you and me. Imagine a comparison of America and Germany in the rudeness department. America has it's bigots, you know the type...the ones that scream sideways that this is America and we speak English here. We don't speak English here, we speak whatever is taught to us, since there is no official American language. America also has it's racists and iditots and Bubbas. Germany has it's bigots, racists, idiots and Bubbas too. They are elitists and feel they should shout just as much about speaking German in their contry as Americans compalin about speaking English in theirs.
One will find that the Germans, when you find an elitist, usually pounces on Americans rather quickly....for our ignorance, stubbornness, rudeness, lifestyle and arrogance. Touring Germany takes a lot of guts. You maybe fluent in German and might fit right in, but the guy next to you from the same plane and tourbus, might not know a lick of German and think all Germans speak like Hitler and tell them that to their face. People always remember the bad news and never the good.

I controlled German swiftly, however that might be due to the fact that I am German. I taught German and do not uncover that pupils suppose it's an effortless language to be taught. In reality German may be very hardto be taught in comparison to Spanish or French, which I talk as good. My propose sure, cross with a CD direction or a language university after which spend a while in Germany, you are going to be taught the language there as soon as you've gotten acquired an concept approximately the grammar. Viel Glueck (Lots of good fortune)

Considering the fact that a waiter called me an American idiot under his breath for mispronouncing something on the menu, and considering the fact that I was told by a sales clerk to "Learn some f*cking German--you're in Germany, not America" after I asked her to repeat a sentence...
I have to say Germans are just rude, period.

The FRENCH, however, are notorious for having such an attitude!
News flash: No, the french actually have a great attitude with foreigners. Not that you'd believe it anyway, obviously if your american TV says so, it must be true. Lol, you even changed the name of your fries over your crazy fear of french people.
