Can you get to South America (Peru) without going by boat or in an airplane. Strickly by car, train, or walkin?
I had a great debate about this, and I believe that it is possible to get to Peru from California w/o having to take a boat or an airplane. Can anyone clarify if this is so?

Actually, it is possible. There are two bridges that cross the panama canal, the centennial bridge and the bridge of the americas. Both are pedestrian, car, and motorcycle friendly. So, in theory, it would be a long journey but it can be done.

nope, can not do road travel the whole way to peru. I was looking into this question recently, and found that the panama canal requires that you take a boat or a plane to get across.

No, and Peru is so mountainous that the roads are very dangerous. One lane roads on the mountains with no guard rails, many people die each year going of the cliff. Its sketchy.
