    It was Einstein's predictions from general relativity that predicted the event that we call The Big Bang. It's currently under debate. Whether this was a single event that only happens once or is an ongoing event that includes a bounce. The universe expands, then collapses to a point, then it starts over again. It could be cyclical in nature. This has not been ruled out.

    Einstein's laws also say that we cannot know what happened at the exact moment of the Big Bang, but there are competing theories that suggest it is possible that some information from a previous bounce may survive.

    Yes, the Big Bang theory continues to be the best theory that explains all of the things that are being discovered in outer space. Nothing discovered so far is inconsistent with the theory.
