American Soaps, stereotypes?

is all of the American soaps are most characters in Comas throughout the soap?

or is that a British Stereotype, much like the American Stereotype that us Brits have horrid teeth.

Soaps are supposed to be cliche. like evil twins, serial killers, crime families, drunks, illegitimate children, people getting married a million times, custody battles, pregnancies, crazy people who try to kill people to be with their lover/ person they are obsessed with, elaborate kidnappings, love triangles, and there are more to list.

The only soap I watch is General Hospital and there is one person in a coma. And yes, almost every character has been in a coma, and that sad thing is that that includes the kids too. Because the person that's in a coma now is a boy that's like 13 years old. I hate the scenes where the people come in the room to talk to them, it's boring. I always fast forward past those scenes, I mean they rarely ever die when they go into a coma. Good question. :P

I watch General Hospital religiously and there is only one person in coma Michael Corinthos. On ABC in general I have noticed that not so many people are being put in coma. Kendall on All My Children is in one too but she is going to come out of it soon. Also not all Brits have bad teeth, American's have bad teeth too. Stereotypes are pointless.
