Asad Rauf Visa problems?

http://www.cricbuzz.com/component/latest_cricket_n...

This is more a visa question than a cricket question but since it applies to a cricket umpire, I'm posting it here. Does India have city specific visas as well?

Update:

I don't think India has any problems with Asad Rauf. I can understand India taking such steps for keeping Steve Bucknor out though and justifiably so. The guy is a serious embarrassment to cricket. But after what happened in Australia, I don't think India will ever have to deal with Steve Bucknor again.

Pakistani Nationals need city-specific visas to enter India (And Indians need the same to go to Pakistan). Rauf had the visas for Ahmedabad & Mumbai; But the tests were shifted out of these cities which meant Rauf required different city-specific visas. And the consulate had an extended leave owing to the Muslim festival Eid-ul-Adha and Rauf could not get his city-specific visa.

Billy Bowden will replace Asad Rauf for the first test. Asad Rauf is expected to be back for the second. But there are remote chances of the second test being shifted out of Mohali to Bangalore. Then Rauf will be in trouble again.

Pakistan is a terrorist state. It creates and protects terrorists of all shades. As a Government policy, they promote terrorism. They have formed an International hub of terrorism. They commit a terrorist act and when questioned, they will say that they are themselves a victim of terrorism (which they themselves have created). There is no reason why they should live with terrorists instead of handing them over to India - especially because most of the people sought by India from Pakistan are basically Indians who carried out terrorist activities in India and ran away to Pakistan who in turn gave Pakistani passports to these Indians, appreciating their gallantry.

Pakistan has lot of good people too. Asad Rauf is my favourite umpire. But then, good people also suffer when they are living in Pakistan who would be declared a terrorist state soon.

India's reaction is natural as Pakistan is fighting a low-intensity war with India over the last 3 decades.

I don't think India govt is intentionally trying to stop him from coming. If that's the case the govt'd have told it in their face. I think it's more of a technical problem, the Eid holidays and such things. He is an exceptional umpire, far better than that lofty gentleman from S. America

They just want to defame Pakistan nothing else. If not by spot fixing then by some other scandal. If such incident takes place with Australian or Indian cricketers, the ICC and the media simply calls it the personal issue but when its with Pakistan, they make it public no matter how personal it is.
