Help finding a job in Melbourne?

I've been looking for a job in Melbourne for 2 months. I'm 21 and have 5 years experience in administration, customer service and working for the Government. I have a cert 3 in business and positive referees. My resume and cover letter are both updated and individualised for each position I apply for.

I apply online, research the companies and call making sure they know who I am.

I never get called back and can't land an interview. I have been going for positions far below my pay grade and still don't get a response.

I know if I get an interview I have a very good chance of getting the position. I have a way with words and a stylish dress sense.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm from Doncaster and would like to work in the city.

Hey, I used to work at Doncaster, Westfield Shoppingtown and it's just opened so if you get desperate look for work there, it's nice.

If your desire is to work in the city, then you need to follow up on the resumes you send out if you really care about the position. Don't just send out resumes willy nilly and then shrug it off when you don't get a response and do it all over again. It won't get you anywhere. Care about the companies you are applying for, care about your resumes, care enough about yourself to follow it up and say did you receive my resume? You are looking on the surface. Surface lookers never get jobs. You ring them, you say did you receive my resume? See what the response is. If it's negative, discuss why. If it's positive, discuss this too and secure a time. Resumes are nothing to me, yes they are compulsory and we all have to do them but it's YOU in the end that seals the deal, not the bit of paper.

i would be getting some feedback on your resume

as if you say you do this and that and have great referee's it more than likely your cover letter is not up to there standard or your resume is to long and does not highlight what you can do

resume maximum 2 pages otherwise it gets boring to read

    no offence
