My internet connection does not work completely, why?

I had a virus, specifically the TDss trojan. At first it just redirected links to go.google.com.

After running Spybot, ZoneAlarm, MalwareBites, Hijack This, SuperAntiSpyware, SDFix, ComboFix, and AVG, I finally got rid of it. (I think)

All of the programs were able to find parts of the virus, and I was able to delete the entire thing. I also did manual searches through the registry, and It is no longer there.

Also, It is no longer in the Hardware devices list.

Problem is now, the internet works for some programs, like instant messaging programs and games. But for the anti-virus/spyware update programs, it wont connect; as well as Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera. The browsers cant connect to any website.

I use NetStat when trying to connect with a browser to a website, and it looks like its trying to connect to my computer.

It says "Local Address:1900 Syn_Sent" and then I refresh the NetStat, and that entry is gone.

Firewalls are disabled, Running in both Safe mode and normal mode.

Windows XP SP3, fully updated.

Hopefully that is enough info to find an answer. Thanks in advance

Update:

I have alot of software installed, reinstalling windows would take a long time, and then reinstalling all the software would take even longer. So its not really a viable option.

All the trouble you went through, isn't it easier to just start again and throw all the junk software away at the same time. I mean backup, reinstall WIndows etc from scratch.

You can now scan the data files and back them up apparently. That is good.

As soon as you get restarted install the anti-virus software and do a scan.
