When did the clothing industry decide that petite people are tall?

I'm about 5'2" - 5'3" - just got a job and I'm trying to buy new dress pants. I'm finding that petite sizes, even with my highest heels are STILL going to need to be shortened! This is very frustrating. Anybody know of a store in PA that might not be following this trend??? ARGH!

    your short: get over it, a lot of tweens are that tall
