Does this adequately describe democrats and republicans?

Accurate

I'm a registered Republican now but I grew up in a Democratic house where both my parents were Democrats.

I was expected to mow, pull weeds, shovel snow and any thing else my parents said to do.

Conservatives: The glass is half full, but it's rightly owned by 1 out of 10 Americans. Republicans: The glass is half full owned by 1 out of 10 Americans but they'll allow some to trickle down. Democrats: The glass is half full owned by 1 out of 10 Americans, and they contribute lots of campaign cash to us so we'll deregulate them. Liberals (classical, known as Libertarians today): Water is a commodity to be sold to the highest bidder. Progressives: Our drinking glass system is unsustainable without massive amounts of debt to buy workers water, which leads to periodic collapse and bailouts of the 1 out of 10 who have the only water available. We need a new system!!!

Wow, that's amazing. Imagine if the entire population of the United States was as smart as your friend's little girl then Republicans would win every election with 100% of the vote! You're half way there at least, well...a little less then half...but keep plugging away!

That's an old, old story. I think I first heard it when I was in college about forty years ago. If you are going to use fiction, at least you should come up with something original. Oh wait! Why should they? You drink safe water & breathe clean air thanks to anti-pollution statutes put into place by Democrats. Democrats lobbied for consumer liability standards so your car is safe. Democrats enforced truth in labeling laws so you know what's in your food. Your dad retired with good benefits because Democrats fought for worker's rights. Your money in the bank is ensured thanks to Democrats. I could go on and on...

duh! Because in that particular scenario the homeless person didn't know that that work existed... and you asked the little girl to do it. How would the homeless person know that you wanted your weeds pulled? If they went door to door asking for work, everyone would hate them even more. In general, think about it. An employer will never hire a homeless peson over someone with a home. The homeless people smell bad and look ragged, and that's not good for business. It seems you forgot the hardest part of the story, getting the qualifications and getting hired to do a job
