  • Atheists, what does salt taste like?

If you cant explain to me a simple every day occurence, then perhaps you can understand why we cannot explain how we know God exists.

And if that doesnt compute, then that would explain why these forums exist.

  • Is atheism a religion?

    From dictionary.com

    1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

    2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.

    3. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices.

    4. something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience.

  • Is this proof that God exists?

James 1:5 clearly states "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

Does that not imply you can ask God if he is real, and he will either answer, or the scriptures are false, and the Christian God is therefore false?

Either he is there and he will tell you if you ask, or he isnt there. Right?

  • What do the scientists think about these Einstein quotes?

“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”

“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.”

“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”

"The only real valuable thing is intuition.”

  • Is my logic incorrect?

If I choose to believe in God, and when I die, it ends up there actually is no God, and I cease to exist - I have lost nothing.

If I choose NOT to believe in God, and when I die, it ends up there actually is a God, and I have made a huge mistake - I have lost everything.

  • Does this adequately describe democrats and republicans?

I asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?'

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'

'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'You don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50.

-Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds while her Mom glared at me, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Her folks still aren't talking to me.
