In point of fact,I would say I'm guilty of no.4, this may not help you though. Most atheists will tell you that atheism is-no belief in God or Gods. I find that a narrow path as much dictated by theists as the atheists themselves. I am an atheist because I have no belief in anything super-natural. God falls in that category, therefore; I don't believe in him. As a matter of conscience, I can not.
EDIT: you realize that your definition makes everything a religion, yes?

I will take these definitions and try to apply them on he notion of atheism for you to understand.
1. That applies more to philosophy than to religion. Atheism does not have beliefs, not set nor loose that have anything to do with the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe nor a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs. Concerning the first: we have science for that. Concerning the second: they use other concepts like logic, common sense, laws of society and values to govern the conduct of human affairs.
2. Atheists do not have sects, fundamental beliefs and practices that are agreed upon by a number of people. The lack any of these.
3. Again as above.
4. They lack belief in deity therefore they have nothing to follow devotedly. Their ethics and conscience are not governed/outlined by any religious systems.
Dictionary.com gives way too broad definitions. Religions have other characteristics like worship, belief in deity (usually not always) etc.
Conclusion: atheism is not a religion in any possible way. It is merely a name for the lack of belief in deity.

Who stated Atheism is a faith? Atheism isn't a faith. Come effectively...''Atheists are the boys and ladies who have not got self belief something without ideal data''. Who worried approximately them or their worry or their standards? First, there is not any atheists here in india. Atheists are extra in christianity, and in the western international places. There are as many motives for being an atheist as there are atheists: the line to atheism has a tendency to be very own and person, based upon the centred circumstances of a character’s existence, reviews, and attitudes. although, it incredibly is plausible to describe some time-honored similarities that are regularly original between particularly in straight forward terms some atheists, extremely atheists in the West. it incredibly is a staggering question; regrettably, it isn’t incredibly uncomplicated to respond to. Many atheists discover their physique of concepts to disbelief with the aid of way of technology. Over the centuries technology has come to present motives of sides of our word that have been as quickly as the unusual element of religion. since scientific motives have been extra effective than non secular or theistic motives, the skill of religion to call for allegiance has weakened. consequently, some persons have come to completely reject now not simplest faith, yet additionally theory in the existence of a god. For them, gods are ineffective as an reason for any function of the universe and supply not something worth investigating. have you ever ever heard of 'smart atheists'? it incredibly is a classification utilized with the aid of some non secular theists to describe purely about all those theists who technically experience in a god, even with the undeniable fact that who behave immorally. the theory is that ethical habit follows straight away from genuine theism, consequently immoral conduct is an extremely end results of now not actually believing. Theists who behave immorally have have been given to incredibly be atheists, even with what they provide theory to.

Theism (ie the opposite of atheism) isn't a religion
Atheism isn't a set of beliefs and it's a non belief rather than a belief
Although I do find it funny when christians try to claim it is in a "see you're as bad as we are" way

atheists have no church, alter, bapism, creed, and naturally no god. How can one possibly say the atheist is a religion. The thought of a god never enters my head untill some fool asks me if I believe in a god. I say no,hopeing the next word will be why not. Then I get to really rattle their cage. But as I got older I have mellowed out some what so I only thell them I do not trust any god that has testicals or emotions. That eliminates all the man made gods.

The only belief that we have in common is that there is not a god, and even then, this belief has its differences among us. Some believe that there is certainly no god, others believe that there is most likely no god.

1. It is a lack of belief in gods, so no.
2. The only thing all atheists agree on is we don't believe in gods.
3. There are not beliefs or practices. Again, lack of belief.
4. Lack of belief, again.
No, it is not even close to being a religion. It is the refutation of a claim.
