Why do I see so much judgment coming from those who profess they are Christians?

I am a Christian and because it repeatedly says in the Bible not to judge others as God is the only one to do so why does so many that claim to be Christians throw out questions of judgments upon other believers who we all know were born of sin and wherever they are in life now or what sin you feel they are committing why do so many feel the need to judge?

This concerns me more than the acts of the non believers which are expected on here.

That is one of God's commandments so why is that the most easily broken one? I sure don't want God to say to me; "Because you judged others, I will now judge you more harshly than I would others."

Are we all not guilty of some sin in our lives? Even now as Christians or Born Again Christians?

Only believers need to answer this question.

Update:

For Steven M; I understand what you are saying and my question comes from judgment that is and what is not righteous like what your example pointed out. In your example, yes, taking someone alone and telling them their sins is not the same as judging them; that is a form of trying to help them. One of today's questions really made me ask this when the original question was fine but when the person said; "this is for gays only", I could feel her true sense of judgment in an unrighteous way.

your reading of the bible is out of context. When Jesus is saying judge not lest you be judged, he is talking about final judgment. You and I have no right to say well that person went to Hell or that person went to Heaven.

But in context in another passage Jesus does say "do not judge in accordance of appearance but MAKE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT". So it truly is Jesus' followers to make judgments. For example if you had blue hair I would not judge you for being different from me because I have brown hair. But if I heard you using God's name in vain like "Oh my G_D!" or Jesus' name as a curse word, I could judge and say to you "what are you doing Christian, that is blasphemy you speak and is a very serious sin in God's eyes".

See the difference. Context. Context. Context.

  • My guess is that the reason would be the now age old fundamentalist vs conceptual argument. From what I have seen, most fundamentalists which can include Born Again, Baptist and Catholic take such a literal interpretation of the Bible that they view others with different approaches to Christianity as non-believers. As to why, I can only think it has to do with power. Think about it. If you can profess that you have the knowledge of what it takes to be saved and only your way is right then that is exerting quite a bit of power. But once someone has determined who will be saved and what it takes to be saved then all discussion and chance for open ideas ceases. Just curious, in your question, you asked only believers to reply. Where do you draw the line? Would you like to hear from a Jew, Muslim, Buddhist or only Christians? Just curious.

1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

There is a difference between judging people from our own thoughts and using the word of God to rebuke someone.

Great question and I couldn't agree more. All of us have sin in our lives no matter how hard we try not to. We are human. We, as Christians, strive to be Christ-like, but we can never be like him.

    Because they are arrogant hypocrites.

They condemn others to hell when according to their own faith, there is only one judge of that. Yet they are arrogant enough to put themselves in that position.
