Live in Oklahoma, want to hunt deer in Texas. Hunters Education Course...?

I have completed my hunters education course in Oklahoma. I have a friend who has land in Texas. He said I could come hunt. I'm trying to figure out what I need to hunt there. I know I will need a non-resident license but what about the Hunters Safety/Education? Do I have to take it there or does mine from Oklahoma carry over?

Your fine with what you have.Just buy your non-resident license in Texas and shoot straight.

Texas has a reciprocal agreement with Oklahoma for hunter education. That is, you can take it in OK or TX and have it be good for both states. KS is the same way, as are MOST states.

You need to check out the TX wildlife web site and research exactly what you need for what you will hunt, when, and where.

I don't know if the law is the same in Texas but in Ohio you don't need a license to hunt on private property.

Sounds like fun. To bad I haven't been licensed. :/
