Why wont my second monitor work?
I've been using a second monitor with my laptop for a couple years and lately its been disconnected. I turned it back on and i was readjusting the resolution and location of the monitor when it suddenly turned off. Now when I go to check the box to "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" it refreshes the screen and simply un checks the box. What did i do? and how do i fix this? I usually use a DVI cable, however i also tried an s-video cable and it still does not work. THANKS.
As i said i use a DVI cable i just tried the s-video for trouble shooting to make sure i didn't mess up one of the ports somehow. The monitor still works with other inputs, (its a 19" LCD tv, i just use it as an extra monitor b/c it has the inputs). as for a video card i have no idea but my primary monitor works fine and windows claims all the drivers are working properly. Thanks though.
Dont know what happened but using a restore point fixed it. thanks though.

Hey!
I think I found your problem. The monitor won't show the image on the screen without a DVI or VGA cable (s-video only works for TV). So if you've been using the s-video one that's your problem. Besides that the monitor could either be dead, or your having problems with your graphics card inside the laptop.
