If you are a farmer would you change your crop to trees?

I'm thinking we need trees planted in mass to curb the effects of global warming and some farmers could do this easily.

A farmer usually grows crops that make money, so that he can afford to feed himself and his family. Unless he was growing trees to sell for Christmas or lumber, then no, I doubt any respectable farmer would.

Edit: Unless he's an orange, apple, pear, or other tree type farmer...in which case he's already planting trees...

No. Farmers aren't in the business of curbing global warming, they're in the business of trying to make a living. There isn't a lot of money per acre in trees. The crops they do plant have the same affect on the atmosphere, however, albeit to a lesser scale. Plant matter, whether it be trees or corn uses photosynthesis, wherein CO2 is converted to 02, among other things.

Human caused global warming is definitely true. If you don't believe this, I'd encourage you to get an education in the sciences, and study why this is not disputable.

Trees are a great idea, especially in western/southern climates where erosion is also of concern. More importantly though is educated the populous on global warming. People listen to Rush Limbaugh or some other ignorant personality and then start believing that human caused climate change is myth. UNREAL! The UN panel of scientists have already collectively said: we're ****** if nothing is done in the next decade to slow our carbon emissions.

Good theory. Just remember that we need crops for food. We can't eat trees. I tend to plant windrows of trees around paddocks. More farmers should be doing this at least

You need the underbrush and smaller plant life to keep the soil from eroding, so just planting trees isn't a good idea.

Although I do not believe humans are responsible for climate change, I am in favor of planting more trees.
