Why does Jesus say that we should shine our light?

Jesus is the Light....we should let Jesus show through us.

The goodness that comes from being a christian is a light in a dark sinful world and we should shine by our actions thus encouraging others to come to the source of the light ie Jesus

Seek truth.

Jesus represented truth within the bible, he did not represent anything else but.

The 12 Apostles represented mankinds 12 separate personality's.

The symbolisms told a story of truth of mankinds origin and destiny, from spirit to flesh and back to spirit; a long journey and fruitfull one of pain-loss-ectasy and glory.

Reading the bible in a literal sense means nothing but confusion for the spritualy blind.

Live Christ like and let Jesus Christ light shine through you, for you will be known as to what you do, not for what you say.

If you profess Christ and live as a sinner then His light can't shine through you.

If you live Christ like and profess Christ then his light is shining through and all will see you are the real deal.

Because the world becomes illuminated with the grace of God's love through you and me. Powerful grace can be transmitted through the simplest acts of Love and Kindness. A smile or kind gesture to a stranger can rescue them from despair.

Those that have His Life have the light of life, let others see and hear what God can do so that the love and joy can be multiplied!

Have you received the Holy Spirit (evidenced by speaking in tongues) ?

Our words, our action should reflect Jesus Christ in us for He is Light.

Because nobody likes the dark...

It's actually a reference to showing your faith.
