    You can perform theee steps.

START>RUN,type in msconfig and hit enter,a new window will open,Make sure that you have selected normal start up on this window.,have a look at the top there would be some tabs, click on start up and then disable all and then at the top again click on services, there would be an option for HIDE ALL MICROSOFT SERVICES,check that option adn look for services which are not required and disable them.it will definitely make your computer faster.

.You can also restore this computer to an earlier time by following these steps

START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SYSTEM RESTORE.retstore the computer to an early time when it was working fine.

You dont necessary have to reload you machine. You can dramatically speed it up by doing a disc defrag. It is under start - programs- accessories - system tools. That will take a while but it is worth it if you dont have a cd.
